I received the Garmin nuvi as a birthday present. The best things about it are knowing how soon the next turn is coming up, and having an estimated time of arrival. I use it mostly for traveling back and forth from home to college, but I also use it when I have to go somewhere I haven't traveled to before.
A big improvement I would like to make would be the ability to alter the given route, i.e. I would like to be able to enter "travel from here to this address, via this/these main road(s)." I would also like to have it notify you (audibly) only once for each turn, especially when turns are in rapid sucession.
