I have the Garmin Streetpilot c330. I got it for Christmas 2007. I love it because it has never let me down and I have used it surprisingly many times. I am not good at city driving but I don't worry about it anymore because as long as I have my garmin (Helen as I have named her) I can get through all the traffic without a care in the world. I have traveled to Memphis with it last year and just this month I went to a trip to Orlando which I would have had no idea how to get there without it because I can't read paper maps very well.

I would like to change the fact that I have to buy upgraded maps for it though.

Empowering! How could I ever have lived without my Garmin Nuvi 660. I now go places that I would never have gone before because of the fear of getting lost. With my Nuvi by my side or in my pocket, I find that I wonder off the beaten path and explore more when I travel.

The best thing about the Nuvi 660 is its accuracy. I have yet to be someplace that she, Jill, my Nuvi's selected voice, can't find. I take my Nuvi with me whenever I'm in my car and since it fits in my pocket, I take it with me when I go hiking. Its great for getting around any place that I roam.

The only improvements that I would make would be that I would like to calculate more trip routes. When I have errands to run, I would love to put in all my destinations and let Nuvi get me there as quick and fuel efficiently as possible. Also, a protective case that doesn't have to be removed from the device in order for it to work would be great.

No wondering of what was said by the unit. It was very easy to set up and I did not even need the directions out of the box to get started. I had it ready to go in less than 5 minutes. The screen is also very easy to see.

I do travel with this wherever I go just in case I should get lost. It could use an improvement in updating the maps. The world is ever changing and new streets are popping up everywhere so without this update you could be going to a street not on the unit.

Unfortunately the product is no longer produced, but I wish the on-screen keyboard had a QWERTY setting. When typing in any kind of name (addresses, labels for favorites, etc.) the letters are arranged alphabetically. I feel that a QWERTY style display would be faster to use.

Map updates from Garmin are ridiculously expensive. Also hearing "recalculating" over and over while I drive in a parking lot for a meal is annoying, so I turn the volume down, then forget to turn it back up. Later causing me to miss a turn. I wish there was a temporary 2 minute mute that would bring the volume back up later automatically.

It has helped my running tremendously, and continued the excitement to when I come home. I can program maps and courses into it, as well as track my progress from every run.

I don’t like that it sometimes takes what feels like a long time to find the satellites when I’m away from a busy road, but this is only about 5 minutes. Everything feels a little longer when you’re wearing spandex.

I cannot recommend this type of product highly enough. It’s a lot of fun to see where you went on your runs!

Oh! It’s also worked in France, Switzerland and the states, with little more than three button taps.

-Happy running,

This unit is both great for turn by turn directions on the road as well as being a great unit to carry into the back country. The Colorado 400t comes with the topographical map of the United States already on the system so it's ready to go out of the box.

I have recently been using the Colorado for Geocaching. It is incredibly accurate and has provided my son and I with a lot of fun searching for buried treasures!

I have hiked with it in Wyoming and Montana and find the optional Garmin trail maps to be very accurate and useful. There is honestly nothing about this unit that I would change. All the features are useful, intuitive to use and incredibly fun.

I have a Garmin Edge 705. It is made for driving, mountain biking or walking, and I find it very effective - especially with the simple data cards which can be inserted into the back to give different maps.

It has a simple interface with a small joystick to navigate the well designed menus. It gives accurate road directions, and also shows paths over mountains. It can show you the elevation quickly on a graph on screen during the trip. A feature I like about it is that you can customise the display, showing as much or as little information as you want. You can also move the data fields around meaning you can reach the information you want quickly.

I would like to see less place names on the map screen though because they do get in the way when looking at the map. I think this could be easily fixed in an update, and it really would improve the overall experience.

I found it invaluable on a recent trip to the Black Mountains in Wales, it showed my track, and more importantly paths which took me back to the start.

Yes, I LOVE my GPS. I have a Garmin Streetpilot C340 Portable GPS Navigation System, Traffic Ready that I purchased through Amazon.com.

I purchased this device when I had to go to a new city and work for the year. I get lost driving around the block, so I thought that the investment would be well worth it for stress relief. I like that it is pre-loaded with data, so I don't have to do much in terms of computer updates. I recently updated it with the latest and greatest data after waiting two years since the date of purchase. I take it on all of my business trips as it is much better than what I would tend to get in rental cars.

I would like some explanation about how Garmin updates the data set. In my data from 2006, I was able to find many of my favorite businesses; however, since I recently updated the unit, some of these businesses are no longer in the unit. I have to manually enter them. Since the businesses are still open and have not changed locations, I wonder why these entries no longer show up. This has happened so many times since I updated.

Finally, I really like all the pre-set categories (fuel, find a post office, etc.). These are quite helpful if you don't know what to enter in to a search. I use this feature locally when I'm in a neighborhood I'm not familiar with. Also in the pre-set area, I find the food finder very helpful.

-Anne
